Apixpert is a single application treatment and the premium option for the control of varroa mites. This is a slow release strip that maintains effectiveness for 6 - 8 weeks, which is a full course.
It's extensively used throughout Europe and USA for its ease of use and time efficiency. Using a single application treatment reduces the amount of travel to apiaries and time spent going through hive, making it a favourite for commercial operations.
Application rate:
For small hives and nucs less than 5 frames only 1 strip is required. Place between two brood frames in the centre of the hive.
For 8 & 10 frame hives, 2 strips are required. Distribute these across the brood box e.g. one between frames 3&4 and the other between frames 6&7.
For 12 frame hives 3 strips are required, also evenly distributed between the brood frames
Leave in the hive for 6 - 8 weeks before removing. No further applications required
Usage requirements:
Test application on a few hives before treating entire apiary
Not to be used when temperature exceeds 35 degrees or below 15 degrees.
Do not use in conjunction with other pesticides or alkaline drugs
Not to be used on stressed or newly established hives.
Strips not to be left in hives for longer than 8 weeks
